'I am North Tulsa'
My husband and I are adoptive and biological parents of six adult boys and one adult girl and a host of children that we took in.
I have firsthand knowledge and experience on how great the need is for shifting the mindset of our future generation. As a teen mom, I struggled with finding my path in life. Growing up in north Tulsa, I didn’t see success nor was I taught success. It wasn’t until I went to Margaret Hudson (a school for teen pregnancy) that I realized and was taught there is a different way of life. Once I graduated from my program and birthed my son only then was I able to see the world differently. From then on I knew that I wanted to help and be an inspiration to young girls who were just like me.
For over 30 years I have worked with youth behind the scenes. The many challenges our youth and families struggle with I knew I had to bring our Mission to the forefront because it takes a village to make this vision successful. I aim to shift mindsets and restore hope in our community.
I am determined to live the rest of my life pouring my heart and my soul into the troubled youth of North Tulsa and its surrounding areas. I will continue to achieve my purpose through love, encouragement, education, inner wellness, inspiration, and nourishment one teen girl at a time.
